South Korean court reinstates PM as acting president after overturning impeachment
South Korea's Constitutional Court has rejected the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
The ruling reinstated Han to his role as acting president.
South Korea's National Assembly suspended Han in December for his alleged role in President Yoon Suk-yeol's martial law declaration.
China's GDP growth target "perfectly achievable": economist
American economist Jeffrey Sachs says China's development in sectors including digital, artificial intelligence and robotics will propel the country's economic growth.
He said China's target of GDP growth of around five percent this year is "perfectly achievable."
He said the world needs China's leadership in green and digital technologies.
Sachs has been in Beijing to attend the China Development Forum.
China, Japan can jointly promote, practice Asian values: FM
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China and Japan can advocate the Eastern wisdom of valuing harmony and promote Asian values.
In his meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, Wang expressed hope that Japan will work with China to jointly promote peace, stability and prosperity in Asia.
Fukuda reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the improvement and development of Japan-China relations.
The Chinese diplomat also met representatives from friendship groups, and called on the two countries to reaffirm the significance of their friendship as close neighbors and two major global economies.
Ukraine, U.S. discuss energy during talks in Saudi Arabia
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov says Ukrainian and U.S. delegations have discussed energy and other issues in Saudi Arabia.
He called the talks productive.
The talks came after Ukraine okayed a U.S.-proposed 30-day ceasefire plan in exchange for Washington lifting its pause on military aid and intelligence sharing.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is calling for pressure on Russia to reach a ceasefire.
Russia has also sent a delegation to Saudi Arabia for a separate meeting with the United States on Monday.
The Kremlin says achieving a ceasefire with Ukraine remains a complex challenge, and negotiations are still in early stages.
Israeli army kills Hamas politburo member in Gaza hospital attack
Hamas has confirmed the death of senior official Ismail Barhoum in an Israeli airstrike on a hospital in southern Gaza.
Israel claims that Barhoum was the successor of the Hamas-run government leader in Gaza who also died in Israeli attacks a few days ago.
Witnesses say Israeli drones targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, where Barhoum was receiving treatment.
Istanbul mayor jailed on corruption charges
Turkiye's Interior Ministry says Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu has been jailed on corruption charges.
Supporters are expected to appeal, claiming his arrest is politically motivated.
The main opposition figure has been detained since Wednesday.
The political confrontation has sparked nation-wide protests.
Canadian PM calls early election in April
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called an early election on April 28.
He said he's asking Canadians for a mandate to deal with U.S. President Donald Trump and build an economy that works for everyone.
Carney took office earlier this month after winning the leadership race of his Liberal Party.
Political parties in Canada have launched their campaigns ahead of the election.
