Chinese Premier Li Qiang has reiterated the country's commitment to openness and global collaboration, saying China will further expand market access for foreign investors.
Speaking at this year's China Development Forum in Beijing, the premier pledged to introduce more measures to help foreign-funded enterprises integrate into the Chinese market.
He also urged international businesses to resist protectionism.
"Decoupling and breaking the chain will only aggravate the crisis. And suppression and containment will ultimately harm everyone. If the world returns to the law of the jungle, it will be a step backward in history and a tragedy for humanity. As a major responsible country, China will firmly stand on the right side of history and the side of fairness and justice. We should stick to the right direction of economic globalization and practice genuine multilateralism, and strive to contribute certainty and stability to global peace and development."

Mercedes-Benz Chairman Ola Kallenius remains optimistic about the Chinese economy.
"Messages that we got is China is open for business, China is set for growth, China is focusing on innovation in all verticals, but also in the green economy. And we now have a 360-degree strategy for China. In the next years, we're investing no less than 14 billion RMB into innovation, new technology, and a whole host of new cars."
The two-day gathering features 12 symposiums and several sessions, covering topics such as healthcare, consumption, AI and sustainable supply chains.
Launched in 2000, the China Development Forum offers a chance for foreign business leaders and Chinese officials to discuss the Chinese economy following the country's major political event, the Two Sessions.
