China Search and Rescue Team arrives in Myanmar's quake-hit Mandalay City
The China Search and Rescue Team has arrived in Mandalay, the city hit hard by a devastating earthquake that jolted Myanmar on Friday.
The Chinese rescue team reviewed the disaster situation with the Chinese consular mission and the local government.
It immediately sent an emergency squad to carry out field survey in the area where people were buried.
Seismic experts in the team also conducted a safety assessment of the damage to the buildings of the Chinese Consulate General in the second largest city of Myanmar.
The China Search and Rescue Team's arrival came after some civilian rescue teams from China arrived in Myanmar.
The teams have recovered some survivors.
The earthquake has caused thousands of casualties in Myanmar.
The injured include Chinese nationals.
China has decided to provide Myanmar with 100 million yuan or over 13 million U.S. dollars in emergency humanitarian aid.
The first batch of supplies will be dispatched on Monday.

China has announced a plan to gradually transform permanent basic farmland into high-standard one.
The plan aims to develop 90 million hectares of high-standard farmland by 2030, and transform all eligible permanent basic farmland into high-standard one by 2035.
It says the foundation for ensuring food security lies in arable land, with building high-standard farmland a key focus.
7.3-magnitude quake hits Tonga
A 7.3-magnitude earthquake has hit Tonga.
The quake jolted over 130 kilometers southeast of Pangai.
Israeli army intercepts missile launched from Yemen
The Israeli military says it intercepted a missile launched by militants in Yemen.
Police said the missile triggered air raid sirens in areas including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the coastal plain.
Houthi forces in Yemen resumed attacks on Israel after Israel renewed its air and ground campaign in Gaza this month.
Military figures show nine surface-to-surface missiles have been launched from Yemen since March 18th, with no Israeli casualties reported.
Erdogan urges Kurdish militant group to disarm without delay
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged the Kurdistan Workers' Party to disarm and dissolve without delay.
He made the remarks in an Eid al-Fitr message marking the end of Ramadan.
Erdogan said the current geopolitical landscape presented a historic opportunity to end the conflict with the PKK.
He added that Turkiye will not tolerate threats to its security or territorial integrity.
The PKK declared a unilateral ceasefire on March 1st, following a call from its imprisoned leader to halt armed actions.
The Turkish government has responded with cautious optimism, and is awaiting a PKK congress to declare the group disbanded formally.
