Just like the growth of everything else post the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China’s appetite for performing arts has seen dramatic changes in the industry over the past decade, giving rise to the fast development of new performing arts centers across the country.
This rapid development has also led to the establishment of the annual China International Performing Arts Summit; a gathering that aims to bring together Chinese and international performing arts companies, agents, promoters to learn more about the needs and preferences of the Chinese audience.
Since 2009, Canadian national Wray Armstrong has been lucky to tap into this growing hunger for the arts and in this edition he talks to Nillah Nyakoa about the growth of this industry in the middle Kingdom and how it compares with other mature markets.
