Established in 1979, Ningbo Electric Power Bureau is a large-scaled power supplier subordinating to Zhejiang Electric Power Corporation. The whole bureau has 15 administration offices, 12 producing units, 5 direct district power supply bureaus and 6 county-level power supply enterprises. It is responsible for the whole city's power construction, supply, the operation and maintenance of the switch gears. Until the end of 2007, the bureau has 2160 employees and county-level subordinators have 1785 staffs. The total fixed asset accounts for 13.777 billion yuan.

Until the end of 2007, the bureau owns 139 transformer substations of over 110kv. The total transformation capacity reaches 2.42 million kva. The length of current delivery wires is 4,417 kilometers, forming the modern, safe and advancedly equipped regional power grid consisting of 500 kV, 220 kv and 110 kv. In 2007 the power consumption of the whole society was 36.7 billion kilowatt-hours. When the sales reached 31.9 billion kilowatts, the bureau got the income of 16.1 billion yuan. The power grid supply reached 29.2 billion kilowatt-hours and the highest power supply load is 5.32 million kilowatt-hours.
