Notes
The following positions are what the international staffers take at the English Service of CRI. We may not have vacancies at the moment, but you are welcome to touch base. When you do, please email your CV, demos and preferably photograph(s) to job@cri.com.cn. The CV should include such information as your citizenship, age, academic degree, working experience, contact numbers and, if you are already in China, type of visa. The English Service of CRI seeks people with a natively proficient English and journalistic/radio experience.
Video Reporters:
1. Video editing experience with an understanding of Final Cut Pro software.
2. Resourceful and creative when it comes to finding original stories.
3. A comfortable demeanor in front of the camera.
4. Enjoy working with others in a team oriented environment.
5. Chinese language skills are a plus, as are open-mindedness and curiosity in China-related subject matters.
Radio Reporters:
1. Journalistic experience, particularly in radio news.
2. Good reading and presentation skills.
3. Flexibility and ability to work at irregular hours.
4. Chinese language skills are a big plus.
5. Open-mindedness and curiosity in China-related subject matters
News presenters:
1. Journalistic and radio experience, good news-writing skills.
2. Good voice quality.
3. Ability to work the night and early morning shifts.
4. Team spirit, flexibility and open-mindedness.
Copyeditors:
1. Journalistic experience and good news-writing skills.
2. A high command of the English language.
3. Ability to work at irregular hours.
Music DJs:
1. Well versed in genres like pop, rock, folk, R&B, hip-hop, soul, blues, jazz, etc, and not adamant about rap, dance, or heavy metal
2. Personal charm on the air.
3. Relevant experience.
4. Flexible about working solely or with a co-host.
5. Chinese language skills are a plus, so is knowledge of or interest in contemporary music from China or other non-English-speaking nations.
