To mark this special occasion, the English Service of China Radio International is launching an essay competition for its United States listeners. The content can be anything concerning Sino-US relations: an anecdote about your friendship with a Chinese; your impression of or comments about China or Sino-US relations; your travel to or experience in China; the picture of China in your mind after listening to China Radio International; your expectations of or hope of Sino-US relationship in the future; your visit of a China-related exhibition; any events that you think are worth mentioning concerning you or our station, and so on... The essay should be at least three hundred words. When we receive your essays, we shall select some to be aired on our Listeners' Garden program or published in our newsletter ¡°The Messenger¡±. Some lucky writers will receive a gift from China Radio International. All listeners from the United States are welcome to take an active part in this essay competition. Your thoughts and ideas as well as related photos are most appreciated. The deadline for your entries is December 31st 2003 .
