The much-anticipated Shanghai Expo opens on May 1. With the theme "Better City, Better Life", the Expo is expected to attract 70 million visitors from both home and abroad. It is set to be the largest exposition in history and will explore the full potential of urban life in the 21st century, a significant period in urban evolution.
The opening ceremony, which takes place indoors at both the Expo Centre and Performance Centre, as well as outdoors along the Huangpu River, is staged on the night of April 30, 2010.
