Yan'an was the capital of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and the the headquarter of Chinese Communist Party and general rear during the period of 1936 to 1948. It is the most famous revolutionary resort in China. Many historical events such as the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Rectification Movement in Yan'an, as well as the General Production Movement took place here.
