The Supervision Bureau in Beijing's Haidian District has taken measures to clear out peddlers who are occupying the blind track.
|
According to The Beijing News, those peddlers were not fined but asked to cover their eyes to experience how difficulty it would be walking on a jammed blind track.
A fruit vendor groped his way along for only a few steps. Being afraid of stumbling over his own boxes of fruit, he stopped and promised the supervision officials he will no longer occupy the blind track.
Officials say this method is more effective than fines, because it demonstrates the difficulty faced by visually-challenged people.
