To prevent grass from being trampled on, a board with a warning sign reading "toxic" is set up.
|
The Workers' Daily reports that a "toxic" sign set up in the green belts of Zhengzhou city was simply a hoax committed by local green keepers.
The paper notes the real headache has been trying to keep the urban green from being destroyed. Although there are a lot of signs asking passers-by not to step on the grass or pick flowers, they don't seem work.
And so, this warning sign was created, along with other signs reading "Pesticide Sprayed." More than asking politely, these signs were effective because they scared the people who were going to step on the grass away.
The paper says that this is a most undesirable way to maintain a good environment within a city, noting that the effectiveness of such signs cannot be long lasting.
