The provincial art gallery of Guangdong was transformed into a noisy recreational park for kids when it held a free-ticket day last week.
|
The Information Times reports that a dozen museums in the Pearl River Delta area gathered at the provincial art gallery in a joint show last week, offering free admittance to citizens.
The paper says over 3000 people, one third of which were children, poured in on the free day.
The working staff didn't expect the young visitors to make the art gallery their play ground. The children ran around playing games, a lot of them even attempting to touch the exhibits they considered interesting.
The art gallery deployed all of its staff to maintain order, but the noise annoyed many other visitors, forcing them to leave the show early.
Despite the numerous complaints received about the children being impolite and unrestricted, the paper quotes a professor that says children should also have the chance to visit art galleries. He says, they would behave better if such free admittance days were more common.
