Lesbian Writer Espouses True Love is Guiltless
2005-11-27 11:02:51    CRIENGLISH.com
China's first autobiographical "Lala" novel by lesbian writer -- "My angel my love" has been published by China Theatre Publishing House. This is China's first novel reflecting lesbians at work, at love and their lifestyle and psychology.
The singular name of Lala is not yet widely known. It is a self-appointed name for a group of lonely people existing in society. The rest of the world called them lesbians. Last year, China officially published estimates of 5 to 10 million homosexuals for all of China. Some experts guess that this group of underground people may number as many as 50 million.

The life and emotional state of this group of people are full of mystery to ordinary folks. Many of the latter find it hard to comprehend the former's action. One Lala woman with a pen name of "Ocean Blue" put her love story into a moving novel called "My angel my love" and let people see the pure world of love and emotions of Lala. The book uses female gentility and details to paint a picture of love between the same gender.

It was learned that the novel first appeared on the internet in the second half of this year and attracted quite a lot of attention. It made its appearance on 12 websites and more than 130 internet media sites and drew the attention of more than 10 million netizens, spreading at a rate that was surprisingly fast. China has rarely seen works about lesbian activity, perhaps because Chinese cultural atmosphere strongly censures homosexual love or because traditional Chinese culture has unsurpassable generation gap for intimacy between women.

"My angel my love" is China's fist autobiographical love story by a lesbian. Its author "Ocean Blue" has become China's first lesbian writer who dares to shout "True love is guiltless".
