Sina Blog Awards Held

The First Sina Blog Awards was launched on Monday by popular portal Sina.com.
Anyone can submit their own or their favorite blogs, but they must be based on the free blog system provided by Sina.

Internet surfers are invited to vote for Best Blog, Best Designed, Best Commercialized and Best Journal blogs. The author of Best Blog can get an award of up to ten thousand yuan.

The voting period lasts until October and the final results will be announced on October 28th.

Sina.com launched its brand-new blog service early in September.

Statistics from iResearch show that there are about six million bloggers in China and the number is expected to surpass 25 million in 2007.
