Ada Teaches Us How to Make Moon Cakes
CRIENGLISH.com
Chinese people have a tradition of eating mooncakes during the Mid-autumn festival. Do you want to know how to make this delicious food? Do you know how many different varieties of mooncakes we have now? Chinastic recently interviewed Ada, a public relations manager at a famous hotel in Beijing. Let's listen to what she has to say.

Chinastic: Could you tell us how to make a mooncake?
Ada: Well, actually it's very easy to make mooncakes by yourself, as long as you have prepared the right materials: the special flour for making mooncakes, the cake mold and so on.

Firstly, you need to steam the flour. After that, mix the flour with other ingredients like egg yolk, peanuts and as you like. Then steam the mixture again. After that, you need to shape the mooncake. Put the steamed cake in a mould (if you like, you can make a plum blossom-shaped mooncake. It depends on the mould). And then, steam it for the third time.

Generally, it's not very complicated to make the mooncakes, however, if you want to make certain special varieties, like the crystal mooncake, it's very difficult, especially when you want to make it at home.

C: We all know that the flavors of the mooncakes are evolving. Could you tell us what kind of work you have done to improve them and could you recommend some particularly special ones to us?
