2013-09-26 Political Crisis in Nigeria

Panel discussion:
Earlier this month, the Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan sacked nine cabinet members in a reshuffle which some have interpreted as the opening salvo in his 2015 re-election bid. Technically, he can stand again for but as he's from the south of the country, many agree that he should give way to a northerner. Ethno-religious lines matter in Nigerian society and politics and commentators certainly think this split in the ruling People's Democratic Party could have a huge bearing on the 2015 vote.
