Panel discussion:
Brazil has very much been in the news this past fortnight with social unrests and widespread protests aimed at the government of President Dilma Roussef. The initial spark came via a seemingly miniscule rise in bus fares-half a yuan-which quickly snowballed into nationwide protests against social deprivation, the rich-poor divide, corruption in the government and the political elite, and crucially, the spiralling cost over World Cup venues which are scheduled to be used this time next year, when the five week tournament takes place up and down Brazil.
