Kuwaiti government announced last week that it's calling elections for December 1 and would change the electoral law to "preserve national unity". In response, the opposition launched a large scale protests and demonstration in the capital, Kutait City, and other regions. Reports say tens of thousands of people took to the streets.The opposition rejected the emir's proposed changes, which allow voters to choose only one candidate per electoral district.
