It was about two or three o'clock in the early morning. There was a sudden knock at the door of the police office.
"Someone was knocking rapidly on the door. So, I got up and opened it."
Three young men pushed their way in. It appeared as if one man had been seized and forced into the police office by the other two.
"The man being forced in by the other two had injured his face. My colleague and I first thought they must have had a fight."
Before the police were able to ask the men a question, one of the two young men who had hold of the third took the initiative to speak up. He said he was here to report a case.
"Pointing at the man they had seized, Yang Leilei said that the man was a robber."
In the small hours of the early morning, one man had been accused of robbing two others. The policemen were a little suspicious. To show the police that he was telling the truth, the accuser pointed to a car parked outside the police office and displayed the tools that the robber had used which were inside the car.
"In his car were handcuffs, pepper spray, and a crowbar. We felt their story was somewhat convincing."
The policemen were able to roughly figure out that the man had probably been overpowered while trying to commit robbery and was then taken to the police office. But the words that came out of the suspect's mouth surprised the police officers.
