Violent protests forced President Ben Ali to flee Tunisia after 23 years in power. A unity governmnet formed by Ben Ali ally Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi is on the brink of collapse after opposition members of the cabinet resigned, refusing to work with the ruling Constitutional Democratic Rally party. Protesters are demanding the ruling party be completely abolished.
