World Leisure Expo in Hangzhou to Receive 12 Mln Visitors

The 2006 Hangzhou World Leisure Expo, opened Saturday in this capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, is expected to receive 11 million domestic visitors and one million from overseas, according to the organizers.

The expo, scheduled from April 22 to October 22, will hold over 100 events including exhibitions, conferences, arts and sports activities and tourism projects.

The Ninth World Leisure Congress and the First World Leisure Summit will be held during the expo.

Many other activities, including the World Leisure Products Expo, Leisure Education and Training Programs, the West Lake International Fireworks Show, the World Leisure Expo Garden Exhibition and West Lake Carnival, will also add variety to the event.

The organizers have offered 20 sight-seeing routes for visitors and invited 100 tourism cities to set up their exhibition booths at the expo.

The events will also be held in ten cities and counties in Zhejiang and the province's neighboring provinces of Jiangsu and Anhui.

The Expo is Jointly sponsored by the World Leisure Organization, China National Tourism Administration, General Administration of Sports, Zhejiang provincial government and All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce.
