Highest Railway Station Breaks Ground

Construction began on the world's highest railway station, Monday.

The Tanggula station along the Qinghai-Tibet railway is located on frozen earth, over 5000 meters above sea level.
The station is designed for both passenger and freight transportation and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The station is in the middle section of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, which is the world's longest track along a plateau.
The railway is due to be completed in 2007.
