As the discomfort in his ribs dissipated upon arriving in Germany, Chinese 110-meter hurdler Liu Xiang will resume training this week, the Beijing Times reports.

After leaving the London Diamond League, Liu Xiang and his group traveled to Leverkusen, Germany, where Liu will train until the beginning of August.

Sun Haiping, Liu Xiang's coach, says they left London because of the weather.

Liu Xiang leaving the final of the London Diamond League aroused a heated debate. His coach assured media that it was nothing serious.

"The discomfort in Liu's ribs has gotten better, and there's nothing to worry about as far as his health is concerned," said Sun.
