UEFA Euro 2012 trophy arrived in Ukraine on Friday and will be exhibited in several locations in a campaign meant to promote the event that Ukraine will co-host with Poland this summer.
The prestigious Henri Delaunay trophy, named after the first General Secretary of UEFA, was presented in the Column Hall of the Kiev City Administration by former world famous striker Davor Suker of Coratia and Ukrainian soccer legend Andrey Shevchenko.
The Euro 2012 cup, weighing 7.6 kilograms, will be on display at the Independence Square in Kiev over the weekend.
Fans from other Ukrainian cities, in particular Ivano-Frankovsk, Kharkov, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Lvov will be able to touch the football history, represented by the Euro 2012 trophy during the next two weeks.
The tour will finish in Odessa resort of country's south on May 26.
The Euro 2012 trophy has started a five-week trip through the host countries on April 20 in Warsaw.
The Euro 2012 tournament will take place from June 8 to July 1. |
