Reigning Olympic champion and world record holder Dayron Robles is set to go head-to-head with reigning world indoor champion Liu Xiang in a blockbuster 60m-hurdles race at the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham on February 18th.

It will be the pair's first meeting since the World Championships in Daegu last summer, where Liu took silver after Robles was dramatically disqualified for disrupting Liu despite finishing the race in first place.

The pair, who between them have amassed a staggering 11 major event titles and are considered all-time greats of hurdling, will join a stellar line-up including Asafa Powell, Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena next Saturday.

It will also be Liu's first race in Birmingham since he won bronze at the World Indoor Championships in 2003 at the age of 19.

Robles, who set the world record of 12.87 seconds in Ostrava in 2008, has won five of his 12 previous races against Liu, and the 25-year-old Cuban says he is determined to level the record by the end of March as he will race alongside Liu first in Birmingham and then in Istanbul, where he hopes to usurp Liu as the world indoor champion.
