Li Na Out of Paris WTA Open due to Injury

Chinese tennis star Li Na has withdrawn from the Paris Indoor Open. Li quit her first-round match with back problems.

The 3rd seed Li Na was trailing Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova at this first-round game at the WTA Paris Indoor Open due to a back injury on Tuesday.

Jelena Jankovic has also withdrawn from the tournament with injuries. the Serbian hurt her left thigh during a match last week.

"I am really disappointed not to play here," said the current world number nine. "I don't know when I will be able to resume playing but I don't regret having played in the Fed Cup."
