Russia's deputy sports minister Gennady Alyoshin has resigned.
Alyoshin is the second high-ranking official to quit following Russia's worst Winter Olympics in Vancouver last month.
President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachyov was the first to resign at the beginning of this month, just two days after President Dmitry Medvedev ordered top sports officials to quit or be fired.
However sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said he would stay in his job when the country hosts the next Winter Olympics in Sochi in four years' time.
