A Brief Introduction to Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine - which mainly includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, qigong and dietary medicine - has developed theoretically and in practice over the course of centuries.

The term Chinese medicine is a general designation for all medicines of different Chinese ethnic groups, including Han, Tibetan, Mongolian and Uygur. Of these groups, Han medicine has had the greatest influence in China and throughout much of the world. The Han was the earliest culture to develop its medicine. In the 19th Century, as western medicine was popularized, Han medicine became known as "eastern medicine".
