Clay Building in the South 

Clay buildings are the one that use clay as wall. It is mostly seen in Fujian in south China. It is also called Hakka clay building.

Clay building can have many kinds, round, square, rectangle, semicircle, elliptical, etc. The round clay building is an enclosed building. The outer wall is built with one-meter thick rammed earth. It can have several layers with a well at center. The ground floor is used as kitchen and does not open the window. Grain and agricultural machinery and tools are stored on the second floor. The third floor and above are used as bedrooms. There is corridor for people to walk. The door and window face the corridor.

The rammer involves a lot of work so that it can endure the enormous building, which is established for people to use in their daily life.
