Jingzhen Octagonal Pagoda
Jingzhen octagonal pagoda is located in Jingzhen village, Mengzhe, Menghai county, around 80km away from Jinghong city. Built in 1701, the pagoda is a distinctive architectural artwork of the Dai people. It stands at 21 meters high with a base diameter of 10 meters. It is the annual meeting place for eminent local monks.
The Garden of Ethnic Cultures
Located in Jinghong city, the Garden of Ethnic Cultures shares the cultures of the Dai, Hanis, Lahu, Jinuo, Yao, Bulang and other ethnic groups. Through the display of articles and utensils used by each group, guests can learn about each group's way of living, production, and customs. In the evening there are performances of ethnic songs and dances, and tourists can join the locals in the traditional style.
Manting Park
Located in Jinghong, Manting Park is also known as Chunhuan (Spring Joy) Park. Once the royal park of the Dai kingdom, it now houses the Xishuangbanna general monastery and the Institute of Buddhism. Festivities are often held, and tourists may join locals for traditional singing and dancing while enjoying typical Dai food and rice wine.
Xishuangbanna Tropical Floral Garden
Xishuangbanna Tropical Floral Garden is part of the Yunnan Tropical Crops Research Institute covering a total area of 80 hectares. Among the lawns are tropical flowers and fruits, palm trees and a monument to Premier Zhou Enlai. There are more than one thousand species of tropical flowers and many varieties of rare flowers and plants. Strolling through the garden, you will discover any number of unique, exotic plants.
