Beishan Park
Beishan Park is a large and quiet park, considered an optimum venue for its summer lotus flowers and winter rimy pines.

Songhua Lake
The lake resembles a string of shining pearls set in-between heavily vegetated mountain peaks, very pretty in Autumn.

Meteorite Museum
In March 1976 a heavy meteorite shower hit the area around Jilin and this museum was set up to preserve astrologers' discovery about it.

Confucius Temple
This temple is ranked as one of the four largest of its kind along with the Qufu, Nanjing and Beijing temples. It is a grand and stately structure.

Though Jilin is not outstanding as a tourist city, its name spreads among travelers nationwide because of the rime. The rime on the Songhua River is one of four natural wonders in China. The rime, also called "snow willow", "tree hanging" and so on, is a kind of phenomenon, in which winter fog condenses on the branches and leaves of trees to form separate, white ice crystals.

Travel Tips

Jilin City is located in the middle of Jilin Province, with Songhua River winding through and bisecting it.	Jilin City has a fairly good transport links with most parts of northeastern China and beyond.	Jilin cuisine displays the catering cultures of the Manchu, Korean and Mongolian minority groups.
Jilin has a temperate continental climate, with windy Spring, hot summer, fine Autumn and long, cold winter.	Although Jilin is one of the province's largest cities, there is little accommodation available here for foreigners.	Near Changbai Mountain, Jilin's rich in wild life and plants, with ginseng, pilose antler and marten well-known.
