Five-spring Park
The park is a pretty area of mountain scenery, offering a panoramic view of the whole Lanzhou City.
Bingling Temple Grottoes
Initially built in 420 AD, Cave No.169 is the oldest one, holding the earliest epigraph of any of China's caves.

Lanzhou was in the past called the "Gold City", due to the precious metal that was found here. A vital city on the Silk Road, Lanzhou used to be a key point connecting the central China and the western region. With mountains in the south and north of the city and the Yellow River flowing from the east to the west, Lanzhou is a beautiful modern city with both the grand beauty of northern cities and the prettiness of southern cities.

Travel Tips
Lanzhou is the geometrical center of China as well as a center of the Silk Road Tourism Ring. Bus is the best way for travelers to reach the less accessible areas of the province... Lanzhou features over 50 hotels. For backpackers, hostels with basic facilities are also available.
The best season may be from May to October when the temperature is most suitable. Besides this, a bottle of water is necessary, as is a lip balm. Beef Noodle makes its mark upon every city, town and village throughout the region. Gansu is most notable for its handicrafts, replicas of cultural relics, herbal plants and liquor.
