The food in Korla is mainly of "Xinjiang taste", but with a special flavor from the Mongolians.

One of the most famous local food is baked fish of Bositeng Lake. It is very delicious. Besides this, the fragrant pear is another excellent local specialties in Xinjiang. With a rich fragrance, ample juice and sweet taste, the pear is favored by the consumer both at home and abroad. At present, the Korla Fragrant pear will be found in the markets of 24 countries and regions in South-East Asia, Europe and America etc. However, due to the strong regional adaptation of the pear plantation, the best variety of fragrant pear, which produced in Koela City, Yuli County and Luntai Couuty of Bayangol Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, is not produced on a large scale.
