Korla sits in the southwest frontier of China, at the south foot of the Mt.Tianshan and the edge of Takelamagan Desert.	With the opening of the spectacular Tarim Highway, Korla's strategic location is noteworthy.	The food in Korla is mainly of "Xinjiang taste", but with a special flavor from the Mongolians.
Korla is dominated by continental climate. It is dry with light rainfall, lots of sunshine and a huge temperature disparity.
