Renewal of Tradition: The Modernization of Kun Qu Opera
   2017-01-06 15:00:56    CRIENGLISH.com      Web Editor: Zhou

Three-dimensional cartoon film, "The Kun Qu Opera Baby", aims to promote the traditional Chinese opera among children.

Story One:
China is home to many of the world's intangible cultural heritages, for instance Kun Qu Opera, a traditional Chinese opera which dominated the country's theatre from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
Although Kun Qu has been included on UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the preservation of this traditional opera still faces challenges. Many attempts have been made by Kun Qu performers and other artists to help it strike a chord with younger audiences, most of whom prefer more modern pop culture. One noteworthy attempt comes from cartoonist Lin Cheng-te from Taiwan.

Story Two:
One year after China allows all couples to have two children, a minor baby boom is emerging in the world's most populous nation. And mother-care providers are trying to capitalize on the increasing demand for quality post-partum services as a result of the two-child policy.

Story Three:
Autism spectrum disorder is a group of complex disorders of brain development, characterized by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication.
These challenges are often perpetuated by the lack of opportunities to interact with other people. In Beijing, autism advocacy group Golden Wings is teaming up with tennis brand, Prince, to give children with autism the chance to play with their peers and learn some life skills along the way.
