FIFA, the world football governing body has been under media scrutiny as several of its executive members are under investigation for corruption.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has confirmed that he will not run for president for the next term as FIFA officially announced a presidential election on February 26th in 2016.

But some believe that reelection may not help to transform FIFA into a transparent and clean organization. It has to carry out much-needed reforms to cure the many ills currently plaguing the organization.

A FIFA reform committee has brought forward several fresh proposals, including publishing the salaries of FIFA's president and executive committee members, introduction of term limits, and higher standards of governance within football structures. All these measures will be left to its next president to fulfill and much is still hanging in the balance.

So how do experts assess FIFA's current situation? How can FIFA emerge from the scandal to become a clean and transparent organization?
