Chinese President Xi Jinping's new book "The Governance of China" has drawn the attention of many.

Discussion over this topic has long been a tradition for Chinese intellectuals. Now, however, China also needs voices from other parts of the world to keep its development on a healthy track.

The country has been under the leadership of Communist Party of China for 65 years, a journey where both mistakes and great achievements have taken place.

So, from a broad perspective, what are some of the most pressing challenges faced by China and its governing party today? And can they be tackled?

In this edition of the program, Ding Heng caught up two international scholars to explore on the questions.

Ni Hao, you're listening to   People In the Know, bringing you insights into the headlines in China and around the world, I'm Zheng Chenguang in Beijing.

We speak to Professor Alice Ekman, Research Fellow at China Center for Asia Studies, French Institute of International Relations, and Dr. Sitiveni Halapua, a member of the National Legislative Assembly in Tonga.
