Taiwan band Mayday is set to embark on their first ever European tour.

The band has held a press conference in London to promote the European leg of their Nowhere World Tour.

CRI's Qi Zhi has more.

The five members of the band, Stone, Ming, Ashin, Monster and Masa were all in attendance to talk about their forthcoming tour.

Some American newspapers have even dubbed them "The Beatles of Asia."

Bassist Masa says they feel very honored to have this title.

"Maybe you know that Mayday love The Beatles very much and have many influenced by The Beatles. So we try to get out music here not only for the Chinese people but also (for the) British people, so we hope you like our music and we'll try our best for the concert".

When asked who they would like to collaborate with, Guitar Monster offered up a rather unexpected response.

"Chef Jamie Oliver, a famous British chef. I saw him cooking on television almost every day so I think maybe I can play the music on his show? And I can eat something."

The band held a concert in London last March. Monster admits that they were a little bit nervous at that time. But this time, they hope the audience will see how much effort they have put in and get to know more of their songs.

"Compared to the concert "Just rock it" in London last year, the Nowhere World Tour will bring the equipment with the original taste from Taiwan, such as LED, lighting and sound and everything you see will be brought here to Europe."

The Nowhere world tour began last year and over the course of two years will take in 40 cities, and an audience of two and a half million. The tour is already said to have surpassed Madonna's MDMA Tour.

The band is due to perform at the Wembley Arena in London on February 21, 2014, with tickets going on sale this Friday.

In addition to Europe, Mayday will also take their "Nowhere World Tour" to the US, Japan and South Korea early next year.

To date, Mayday have released eight albums, and have won many accolades including Best Mandarin Album for their 2011 record "Second Round", and have been repeatedly crowned Best Band at the Golden Melody Awards.
