This past January 24th marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Israel Diplomatic Relations. CRI launched a special activity called "My Chinese Experience." The activity aimed at deepening the friendship between China and Israel by looking back at the historical friendship between China and tens of thousands of Jewish refugees as well as by collecting stories about Jewish people and China.

The activity was divided into three parts: searching for relatives through the internet, returning to one's birthplace, and meetings with friends.

Ehud Olmert served as prime minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009. His Jewish grandfather immigrated to Harbin in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province in 1917, and his father immigrated to Israel in 1932.

During the celebration of the 20th anniversary of China-Israel diplomatic relations, Olmert agreed to an interview with CRI and expressed his wishes for a bright future for diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also expressed his gratitude to CRI for providing a direct line of communication in Hebrew to inform Israelis about the relations between the two countries and give them fresh information about what's going on in both China and their own country.

"We Are So Much Alike" by David D'or and Ha Hui

Lyrics by Xi Xiaoqi, Yang Yang, David D'or

Melody by Yoav Volansky

"We Are So Much Alike", theme song to celebrate the 20th anniversary of China-Israel diplomatic relations, compares the friendship between the two countries to the love that exists between two distant lovers. It is a symbol for the long friendship between China and Israel.
