Chu Teh-Chun is one of the most high-profile and respected artists on the contemporary art scene. Born in 1920 in China's Jiangsu province, Chu moved to France in 1955 to pursue a career in fine art. In 1997 he became the first Chinese-born artist elected to the Acad¨¦mie des Beaux-Arts in France.
His son, Yvon Chu, is in China to help promote a retrospective exhibition of his works, which is being held at the National Art Museum of China until March 30th.
