Hello and welcome to another edition of "China Horizons," the weekly feature program brought to you by China Radio International. I'm your host, Du Lijun.
Today we travel to Northeast China's Xinbin County to have a look at the shelters established by volunteers to take care of children left behind by their parents who moved to cities in hopes of finding higher paying jobs.
Then we continue our special series marking the 16th Asian Games that will be held from November 12th to the 27th in the southern city of Guangzhou. We'll talk about the competitive sports programs in Guangzhou.
Finally, in our travel segment "On the Road," we'll travel to Xinjiang in northwestern China and have fun snow skiing there.
For all this and more, stay tuned to "China Horizons" on China Radio International.
[Across the Country]Building Homes for Children Left-Behind
Along with China's opening up, more and more young and middle aged people from rural areas move to cities in the hopes of finding higher paying jobs. These migrant workers usually leave their small children behind in the care of their aged grandparents, some of whom already have problems taking care of themselves.
Li Ningjing has more.
