The official opening of the "Chu Teh-Chun Retrospective" exhibition was held at the National Art Museum of China on March 4.
The exhibit, which runs until March 30, marks the first comprehensive retrospective exhibition of the work of Chu Teh-Chun by the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) and the association Studio of Chu Teh-Chun (ACTC).
The exhibition, held on the occasion of the artist's 90th birthday, features about 100 artworks, including oil paintings and ceramics, describing Chu's artistic journey between 1953 and 2008.
Fan Di'an, director of the museum and co-curator of the exhibit, said the retrospective was "the most wonderful and scientifically documented project on a modern Chinese painter ever held at the National Art Museum of China."
The exhibition enables the public to explore the various periods of the artist's life and penetrate his world.
Chu Yvon, the artist's son and administrator of the Studio of Chu Teh-Chun, attended the opening. The younger Chu, who is an architect, certified by the French government since 1996, presented some insight on growing up with his famous artist father and the influence it had on his own career choices.
