Since opening this family hotel, financially independent Cun has made many friends and has never allowed her life to become too busy.
"My husband, my son and I are like three trees, we all have our own space. We discuss the big things in the family. We are equal with each other. Home is a place where you can stop and rest when you are tired. Every time my husband is back he will help by doing some housework and while he is sleeping, I never disturb him."
In the past, the local men built a series of pavilions in the town that provided shelter for the women while they washed their dishes or clothes in the stream. The pavilions are called clothes-washing pavilions, though they are considered to be human-caring structures. These clothes washing pavilions have witnessed the women's sorrow and hardship.
Nowadays, local women still prefer to wash their clothes here, but with different emotions.
"The pavilion is not only a place to wash clothes, but also a good platform for people to communicate with each other."
For sure, there is more to explore in Heshun, like the Ai Siqi Old House, Liu's Ancestral Temple, the Museum of Yunan-Myanmar and the Anti- Japanese war amongst others. Actually, you would really need to stay for months to see all this place has to offer.
