"A legend goes like that. Happiness is a crystal ball falling from the sky and breaking down. Fragments fell around us. Some people pick more happiness fragments, and some pick less." A line from the Hong Kong romantic comedy "Look for A Star" was the theme of its premiere ceremony Tuesday in Beijing.
Director Andrew Lau and lead actors including Andy Lau, Shu Qi, Zhang Hanyu and Denise Ho gathered in Beijing and received gifts from fans, theaters and organizers. Andy Lau selected an ox toy for his son.
The premiere venue was decorated like a large wedding, marking the movie's slogan, "Pursue Happiness."
The last He Sui Pian, or New Year's film, shows great promise for box-office income. Shu Qi, whose last movie "If You Are the One" brought tickets sale of more than 302 million yuan, isn't worried about the box office. However, Andy Lau feels great pressure from Ge You, the lead actor in "If You Are the One," and asked fans and media to support his movie.
The film is based on the love story of Hong Kong millionaire Stanley Ho and his fourth wife, Angel Leung. In 'Look for a Star,' Andy Lau plays a millionaire who falls in love with casino dealer Shu Qi.
It will open in Chinese theaters Jan 26, Lunar New Year's Day.
