Afghan security forces backed by the NATO-led troops killed six Taliban fighters and arrested another on Saturday night during operations against anti-government militants in Wardak province 35 km west of Afghan capital Kabul, said a statement of the provincial administration released here on Sunday.
The operations which lasted for several hours were carried out in parts of Sayed Abad district, and six Taliban militants were killed and another named Sayed Wali was captured.
However, the statement did not say if there were any casualties on the security forces.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment. |
