The Lebanese parliament ratified Wednesday a law banning smoking in public places, including restaurants, bars, cafes and offices.
The new law stipulates that the advertising and promotion of tobacco products will be illegal. The law also calls for a pictorial warning of the dangers of smoking covering 40 percent of each tobacco pack and bans smoking aboard planes.
Hotels are allowed to allot between 10 to 20 percent of their room for smokers, according to the law. |
