The appointment of new members of Madagascan transitional government would be made on Saturday in Antananarivo, a communique from the transitional presidency announced on Wednesday.
New ministers of the national unity government had to be named. It was decided by Madagascan transitional president Andry Rajoelina and his two co-presidents, Emmanuel Rakotovahiny and Fetison Rakoto Andrianirina during a presidential council held on Wednesday in Antananarivo.
Madagascan Prime Minister Eugene Mangalaza was present at the presidential council on Wednesday, because it was a meeting to determine the date of appointments of new ministers.
For other transitional institutions, the announcement of National Reconciliation members was scheduled for next Monday while those of Transitional Congress and of the High Transitional Council would be announced on November 25.
Transitional institutions include the Transitional Presidency, the Government of National Unity, the High Transitional Council, the Transitional Congress, the Economic and Social Council, the National Reconciliation Council, the High Transitional Court, the Reflection Committee on National Defense and Security and the National Independent Electoral Commission.
As a national unity government, the four political camps led by Rajoelina, Marc Ravalomanana, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy, would each have six ministers while seven others would be appointed by other political sensitivities, according to the latest face-to-face meeting between the four big in Addis Ababa on November 3-6.
The High Transitional Council would contain 65 members, including 13 from Rajoelina's camp, 13 from Ravalomanana's camp, 13 from Ratsiraka's camp, 13 from Zafy's camp, and 13 from other political sensitivities.
The Transitional Congress is composed of 258 members, including 50 from Rajoelina, 54 from Ravalomanana, 52 appointed by Ratsiraka and 52 by Zafy.
The Economic and Social Council was composed of 72 members, and the four camps led by Rajoelina, Ravalomanana, Ratsiraka and Zafy would have 10 members for each, while the civil society has 32.
In the National Reconciliation Council, Rajoelina's camp have a right to appoint two members, Ravalomanana would name two members, Ratsiraka would appoint two others while Zafy would appoint three.
In the High Transitional Court which would be composed of 11 members, the Transitional President, the High Transitional Council, the Transition Congress and the National Reconciliation Council would appoint one member for each while three would be appointed by the High Council of Magistrate and four others would be appointed by the four main political camps.
Each of the four political camps would appoint two members of the Reflection Committee on National Defense and Security.
It was also agreed between the four stakeholders that the transition, which would not last more than 15 months since last August, was aimed at preparing for national elections scheduled for October 2010.
