Jordan is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the accession of King Abdullah II.
The main event to mark the occasion was a gala concert dinner featuring the world famous tenor, Francisco Casanova.
Jordan's Queen Noor, arriving for a musical tribute to King Abdullah II at the Hussein Park Amphitheatre.
Queen Noor, who is American, is the last wife and widow of the late King Hussein of Jordan.
On the bill at this gala event, two international opera singers: Nina Nowak from Poland and Francisco Casanova from New York.
Also to appear on stage, Klara Nazal, singing Tell Me Why - a poignant song about children suffering poverty and war from all around the world.
The event was orchestrated by the National Music Conservatory, which was established by the Noor Al Hussein Foundation in 1986.
It's Jordan's premier institution for the development of talented local musicians and the promotion of music appreciation in Jordan.
NMC aims to use the power of music to promote understanding, peace and unity across cultural divides - specifically helping traumatized children from Palestine and Iraq to heal and forget the war by music. |
