At Highgate, which has offered the most exciting ostrich farm experience since it opened to the public in 1938, visitors can enjoy touching and feeding the birds, learning about their eggs or actually riding them.

In addition, there is a large souvenir shop on the farm with a wide variety of ostrich, African and handmade trinkets.
According to our tour guide, Ivy Chen Xueqing, birds outnumber local residents around the farm area. There are 60,000 ostriches compared to just 30,000 humans. However, the disproportion between the two hasn't impacted on the harmony established in a long history in the area between humans and birds.
