Unknown gunmen shot dead brother of a Kurdish tribal leader in the city of Kirkuk on Tuesday, a local police source said.
"Weriya Fatah Agha, brother of Sheikh Adnan Agha leader of Kurdish Kakai tribe, was shot dead in front of his house in central the city of Kirkuk when gunmen in a car opened fire on him, " the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Kirkuk, some 250 km north of Baghdad, is a multiethnic city which has frequently been the scene of assassinations bearing ethnic overtones and attacks against U.S. and Iraqi forces. |
